Art Submission Guidelines

ART SUBMISSIONS FOR OUR SPRING 2021 EDITION ARE OPEN UNTIL APRIL 19, 2021!

You may submit THREE pieces per semester if you are not a member of the club and FIVE pieces per semester if you are a member of the club.

General Submission Guidelines

  1. Submission Limit: You are allowed a maximum of three submissions per semester. If you have a collection of works to choose from, please select the pieces that you believe are the best and fit the guidelines. This will make it easier for our judges to sort through submissions and give others opportunities to shine.

    1. If your submission does not follow the guidelines, it will still count towards your submission limit, so please read thoroughly

  2. When submitting a piece, please make sure to fill out all required fields in the form properly. â€‹

    1. Read through all the descriptions on the form to ensure that you don’t make any submission errors.

    2. If you fail to properly fill out the form, we will disregard your entry. It will also count as one of your three submissions per semester.
      1. Read your chosen genre below for more specifically detailed guidelines
        1. Accepted Art Genres:
          1. Photography, Painting, Drawing, Sculptures, Ceramics, Digital Art

          2. Please Do Not Submit These:

            1. Videos of Performing Arts, Cinematography, Crafts, Printmaking, Architectural Models

  3. Originality: Please make sure your work is actually your own.

    1. Do NOT completely copy any references found online. It is considered plagiarism and will disqualify your submission.

    2. Do NOT create a near duplication of an existing artwork or sculpture.

    3. Do NOT submit an image taken from the internet or a minimally modified/photoshopped version of an image taken from the web.

      1. We should not be able to search up your submission and find it online.

      2. If you want to base your piece off of another artwork, you must submit the work of inspiration so that we can discern whether enough development or change was made.

    4. PLEASE do NOT submit fanart. We are looking for original works.

      1. Your piece is allowed to be inspired by something else, but make sure that your submission isn’t simply just an image of an existing person, character, or artwork with no other creative liberties added (i.e. no plain portraits).

    5. *Sculptures and Ceramics are an exception. As long as your work is not a carbon copy of another (or an obvious attempt at one), we will accept the submission. We will be focusing more on craftsmanship and attention to detail for these two genres.

  4. Inappropriate Content:

    1. Do NOT submit any degrading, insulting, disrespecting, and/or explicit artworks. Any signs of racism, sexual or violent themes, and negative references to other individuals or communities will lead to us disregarding your submission.

      1. If your piece is calling out societal problems, please state so with detail in your piece description so that we do not misinterpret your work. If it is deemed appropriate, then it will be considered for publication.
