People keep telling Andrew Ton to go into humanities. The only dogs he eats are hot dogs. Halloween is his favorite holiday. Do biochem majors write? Why doesn't control B work on forms. Ooh, caps locks works! Maybe he will keep writing in college. Slandering Kim is a hobby. Did you know that if you took out all the bones from your body and laid them end to end you would die? Time to become the world's best romance novelist.

Emily is a lover and a dreamer and most importantly... a WRITER !!! She has been writing since what feels like forever, her love for it never once wavering (although college apps do test that...). All of her loves and her dreams go into her pieces, so everyone should be prepared (that is [not] a threat :D). She is also a tea person and anyone who likes nasty bean water (coffee) immediately goes on her dislike list !!!

This is Emmi's second year in Arras as an editor. The current Vice President is the one who convinced her to join the club and she has no regrets! Emmi is not much of a writer but she likes reading the stories and creative pieces that get submitted. She is always looking for a story to immerse herself in, whether that be through writing, movies, shows, music, etc. This club is a great place for her to experience new stories and also help her peers at the same time.

Caitlin has been drawing since forever but started taking it more seriously in middle school. They like to experiment with lots of different mediums but they mainly do digital art. If one were to look at all of their art they would come to find that it is 90% pretty girls. They’re always listening to music and they think about Jujutsu Kaisen 24/7. Don’t ask them about their favorite shows or manga/manhuas, they will not shut up.

Uyen craves just two things. The peacefulness of rest and the warmth of midnight instant ramen. But whenever she can't fulfill either, she turns to her arsenal of vague story drafts doomed for the trash bin and starts writing wherever her mind takes her. Her interest in creative fiction began with praise from her elementary school teacher on her (retrospectively) egregious short story and the inescapable rabbithole of video essays on world building and character analysis. But despite her passion for writing, don't expect her to read.

This is Gisele. To be honest, she doesn't know how she got here. Well, her english isn't bad, but it's not like she writes novels or even read books in her free time. Gisele messed around while critiquing other works and found out the consequences of her actions. But, she still enjoys all of the works sent to the magazine and is super grateful to be an In-House Editor. In her own words "I am very excited to experience a new wave of incoming talent!"...whatever that means.

Ava has been writing ever since it was physically possible for her to write. She loves creating intricate worlds with prose and evoking intricate emotions with poetry. Her favorite animals are birds.

An avid reader, writer, and lifelong lover of the English language, Yunha has written a countless number of poems as well as parts of several novels. She enjoys linguistics, fantasy, and exceptionally well-written prose. Aside from reading and writing, she spends her time sewing (quilts, clothing, et al) and championing the Oxford comma.

They [Andrew] are a junior. They have been writing since 7th grade. They enjoy writing mainly writing historical fiction, poems, but usually will write about anything that comes to their head. They enjoy history; science; music; reading; mythology; and learning. Though they seem never seem to be able to write, I swear they are decent at it. Yes, this picture is from HoCo, and they will probably regret using it.

Little Gabrielle had always been that singular kid in the restaurant whose entertainment was a pencil and pad of paper, filled with fanciful drawings and stories about her stuffed animals. Her interest expanded to photography during the COVID lockdown, when she first picked up a DSLR camera. Now that she has (partially) lost the ability to spin outrageous tales, she primarily writes poetry and does landscape, macro, and wildlife photography. You can also find her strumming a guitar, playing piano, at the golf course, or simply pondering the questions of the universe wherever she goes.

On the 13th of March, while SpongeBob SquarePants was airing on one side of the world, complete chaos was ensuing on the other. Someone was screaming, someone was running, someone was crying joyful tears, and SOMEONE (uhm... uhm... PAPA) was talking to the doctor about golf because he had hemophobia :| Then Mahika was born, an elementary school student who despised formal writing. Yet, as she grew up, creative writing became her outlet for all her emotions; all the pain, joy, love, and hope. The very hope of becoming an author began with her writing.

Nellie is one of the biggest plant nerds you'll meet. She may not know every flora in the world, but you should bet that she will not stop talking about that tree you so happened to pass. So, what does she write about the most? Plants! Who could've guessed?

Nimbus has been and will always be a writer. Writing, to them, is a way to tell the stories that have never been told; prove to the world that none of us fit in the closet; to give all of them what they deserve; a chance to live another life. Even those words can't explain what writing means to them. Yet they keep trying. And you know what? That's all that matters.

Raaghavi has been reading since the age of four, and writing creatively since the age of ten. She is very passionate about literature and medical science, and you can always hear a factoid coming out of her mouth. The best way to get her hooked on a long conversation is to start a controversial discussion regarding a novel: ). Apart from reading and creative writing, she LOVES singing and listening to music. #taylor4lifeee! She won the 2023 Milpitas Poetry Competition, and is a vocal and dance performer.

Swayam has always been an avid reader (favorite book(s): the Lord of the Rings, the Silmarillion, and Dune) and a bit of a gamer (he really loves Elden Ring). Both of these hobbies inspired him to make art and tell stories. He started making 3D art during the pandemic, and soon after, started thinking about actually writing a book. Now after some worldbuilding and a lot of procrastination, he's finally begun, though he's certain it'll be mediocre at best. During the process, he's become fascinated with linguistics. Maybe there is such a thing as too many interests.

Kinjal has always had a passion for writing creative stories based on what she observes around. She has been writing since elementary and even received feedback from some teachers. She had also been trying to write poetry, but mostly struggles to find new topics or ideas to rhyme about. That's all for her!

Lukas had never been very interested in writing or reading growing up. He found it rather time consuming and boring. But as he grew up, he found a new passion for the art. One of his favorite books is The Notebook and his favorite movie of all time is Tron: Legacy. In his spare time, he loves eating and spending time with friends and family.

Brianna has long been enamored with the worlds that stories could take you to, whether it be through words, visuals, or both. She has started countless stories and drawings (though finishing them is another matter), and just can't seem to outlet every one of her ideas and thoughts. So she’ll keep creating until she does!!! When she’s not doodling or jotting down vague ideas, she enjoys crocheting and reading.

Cameryn likes to play video games and eat food. Cameryn's favorite food is spaghetti.
Cameryn likes to write poetry or short fantasy stories.

Artemis started drawing almost as soon as they could pick up a pencil then wrote ever since fourth grade, trying to make their own retelling of the rainbow magic sisters (and failed quite terribly, given that the book never got past 100 words.) They continue the legacy of artistic creation like it's two sides of the same coin: Writing so, so many short one shots that only get more weird, and creating in so, so many different art mediums that also get weirder over time.

Marceline grew up around artists in her family who all do different mediums, which she ended up indulging in. Though, Marceline mostly spends her time critiquing different forms of art and literature outside of Arras. Her favorite book right now is “The Coddling of the American Mind.”
