A Life Never Lived Before

Unintentionally imprisoned within an intricate interior

Of shaded monochrome and captive shadows

Where light is nothing and darkness is superior,

A creature shelters within a personal chateau.

And though it fools itself with silly dreams and evident lies,

The lonely creature craves to depart its cathartic caves.

It is anxious, and suffocating reflections bring out its cries,

The solitary darkness is once again what it craves.

Hopeless and pathetic, but somehow given a chance.

By “chance,” it is the address of the door—

And its message is clear with just a quick glance:

It is a symbol of an exit to a life never lived before.

However, cowardice spoils the desire to depart the dome,

And as a result, the creature died.

It was always scared to leave its home,

And the sad thing was—it never tried.
