Our Purpose
Milpitas High School's Literary Magazine
The Arras Periodical is a literary magazine that publishes creative writing and visual art. It is produced by the Literary Magazine Club at Milpitas High School. “Arras” means “tapestry” and describes what we hope to accomplish with the magazine: to create a tapestry of artwork that represents the experiences and voices of students at MHS. We aim to support artistic students through constructively critiquing students who submit creative writing, constructively critiquing our editorial staff, showcasing the works of talented artists, and providing a space within the club for members who want to explore and improve at their craft. We welcome students of all skill levels and understand that members might have different motivations for joining. Whether you’ve been writing stories since you were six or whether you want to become more fluent in English, we would love to have you join our club!
If you would like to get involved, please navigate to the “Get Involved” page under the “Contact” tab! We are always looking for writers, editors, and art judges. There is a description of each role on the “Get Involved” page.
